Penn State's ESL Specialist Certificate program prepares teachers for K-12 classroom instruction of English language learners.  The certificate program meets state requirements while allowing you to apply earned credits toward an advanced degree.  The Teaching ESL certificate at Penn State may be completed in two different ways: 

• ESL Certificate for Teachers - a 15-credit program with all classes held on campus 

• Teaching ESL with Immersion Experience - a new intensive study option which offers weekend and online courses and an international practice teaching experience.
