Jongoh Eun, Ph.D.

Jongoh Eun is Professor and Associate Dean of the School of Resident Education in the Directorate of Continuing Education at the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center (DLIFLC) in Monterey, CA He earned his Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics from the Pennsylvania State University in 2003. Dr. Eun served as a department chair in the Korean Basic Course at DLIFLC for more than six years and in the Korean Intermediate/Advanced Programs for three years. He was selected as the Civilian of the Quarter in 2006 and has received the Coin of Excellence from the DLIFLC Commandant four times. Since 2005, he has been actively engaged in the American Association of Teachers of Korean (AATK), served on its Executive Board (2009-2012), and is currently a member of the Editorial Board of the journal, The Korean Language in America, and on the Overseas Board of the Korean Association of Speech Communication.
