Daisuke Kimura is a Ph.D. candidate in Applied Linguistics. Having learned, used, and taught English in various international contexts, he explores the global spread of English and its interaction with multilingual, multimodal, and other ecological resources from a range of qualitative research perspectives.

In September 2016, Daisuke won a Doctoral Dissertation Grant from The International Research Foundation for English Language Education (TIRF) for his research on the interplay between English, plurilingualism, and nonverbal resources in Thai university campuses.
