Applied Linguistics Undergraduate Major Student Awarded Young Envoy Scholarship (YES)
Sam Page, a third-year undergraduate double major student in Applied Linguistics and Chinese, received a Young Envoy Scholarship (YES) to take part in a fully-funded trip to China for two weeks last summer. YES is part of a broad international exchange initiative to have 50,000 American students visit China for cultural exchange and to foster people-to-people ties between the two countries. Following the visit, Sam was chosen for a feature interview with the international news network CGTN America about her intercultural experiences and what she learned through participating in the YES program.
