Areas of Interest: second language writing, academic language literacy development, English for academic purposes.
Zimeng Shao is a Ph.D. student in Applied Linguistics at the Pennsylvania State University. He graduated from Southwest Jiaotong University with a BA in English Linguistics, a BS and a MS in Civil Engineering. He is particularly interested in second language writing, English grammar instruction, academic language literacy development, as well as English for academic purposes. He hopes to address linguistics problems STEM students may encounter in their EAP and disciplinary studies. Prior to joining Penn State, he taught English writing and grammar courses to undergraduates in China.
