Byan Althowiani is currently a master's student in the Applied Linguistics department, TESL program. Byan's research interests are generally in language learning and how factors, such as motivation, proficiency, level of achievement, etc, can influence the learning process. She is especially intrigued by heritage language learners and how their different cultural and language backgrounds affect their journey in learning the English language while maintaining and practicing their heritage language.
