Pedro Augusto de Lima Bastos is a Ph.D. student in Applied Linguistics at The Pennsylvania State University. He holds an M.A. in Linguistic Studies and a B.A. in English Language Teaching from the Universidade Federal de Goiás, Brazil. He is an experienced ELT professional in the Brazilian context and is drawn to understanding the connections between language and power in teacher education and language teaching. He is also interested in exploring how English learners and English teachers have unequal linguistic and pedagogical resources, and how they can claim more powerful identities as English speakers.
