Professional Bio
Anna Vogel is an associate professor in Scandinavian languages from Stockholm University, Sweden. Her research is about how various perspectives impact language and how language influences the world. She is interested in both the cognitive and social aspects of linguistics. Semantics is often her entry into data. Her expertise lies within metaphors, narratives, legitimation strategies, antonyms, spatial relations, stylistics, and translation studies. She works with both qualitative and quantitative data, mostly from an inductive approach. Currently she is the advisor of two Ph.D. students, both working on metaphors, and a master student working on systemic-functional linguistics, where all three have text data from domestic political speeches and news media.
