Amber Martin teaches courses in undergraduate composition (ESL 15: Composition for American Academic Communication II) and Applied Linguistics (APLNG 250: Peer Tutoring for Multilingual Writers). Her duties in the latter include working with EPPIC (English for Professional Purposes Intercultural Center) and, more directly, Penn State Learning’s Writing Center. In addition, she frequently mentors MA students in their teaching practica. She has also taught courses for the ITA (International Teaching Assistantship) Program (ESL 118G: American Oral English for ITAs III) and conducted its related placement exam, The AEOCPT (American English Oral Communicative Test). Her interests outside her teaching include singing, backpacking, traveling, and reading. Her academic interests include how non-native English speakers navigate online games using English and the effects it has on how they use English in other discourse situations.
