Alba is a PhD candidate (ABD) in the department of Applied Linguistics. Her research interests include Concept-Based Language Instruction (particularly English and Spanish), Language for Specific Purposes pedagogies, Sociocultural Theory, and language teacher cognition. In particular, she is interested in how language users and educators develop cognitive and conceptual tools for making language teaching/learning decisions. She is currently a user experience researcher in the industry, where she applies her knowledge beyond educational contexts.
