Elanur Sönmez is a Ph.D. student in Applied Linguistics at The Pennsylvania State University. She graduated from Master of Arts in Foreign Language Education at Boğaziçi University, Turkey in 2021, where she also completed her BA in 2018. Elanur’s research interests lie in the area of multilingualism, migration, and identity. More specifically, Elanur focuses on the construction of identity and agency in multilingual interactions. She is also interested in the identity construction of minoritized groups and how they reflect this identity construction through their use of speech.
