Professional Bio

Areas of Interest: political ideologies, identity, discourse analysis, and sociolinguistics.

Byron Po is a PhD student in Applied Linguistics. He holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts degree in Linguistics. Byron’s current research interests center on language ideologies, race and ethnicity, identity, and political discourse analysis. Byron speaks Cantonese, Mandarin, English and Japanese, and will pursue a dual-title degree in Applied Linguistics and Asian Studies.
